Fire Protection
We have a national team of fire protection specialists able to offer expert advice for customers installing fire protection materials. We understand that fire protection can be a challenging and complex area of construction, which is why this dedicated team is on hand to assist customers with fire protection compliance.
Fire protection products and systems exist to reinstate fire performances, though it is crucial that the products selected are not only individually tested but tested together as part of an approved fire protection system.
Due to the complexity of fire protection, detailed information; such as scope of application or fire tests/assessment reports are required to allow robust product selection to complement all other construction systems and interfaces in each application.
Everyone in the fire protection package carries liability, therefore, products need to be, fit for purpose, tested and installed correctly by third party accredited companies where possible. We will work with you to ensure product compliance and recommend suitable third party accredited contractors for your project.
Featured Products
THE PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALISTS
Promat manufactures a complete portfolio of fire stop and fire protection boards, sprays, sealants and adhesives to protect structural steel, concrete structures, partitions, wall linings, floors, ceilings and roofs.
An Unrivalled Product Range
At SIG Distribution we offer an unrivalled range of products to the construction industry, including a number of products for Fire Protection.

Fire Pillows
Steel reinforced mesh enhances the durability of concrete foundations by allowing the concrete to flex around it without cracking or splitting. We can supply mesh in a number of different sizes to suit your project’s specific needs, ensuring the foundations are as structurally viable as possible.

Ablative Coated Batts
Ablative coated batts are slabs of high density rock wool. These are used to fill voids and create a seal around service penetrations, preventing the spread of flames through fire resistant walls and floors where a building’s services pass through. These are effective in both masonry and dry wall applications, with added benefits of further insulation for smoke and sound.

Pipe Collars
Firestop pipe collars were developed to be the most modern fire defence method for combustible pipes. As a flexible and versatile material, these can be fitted to suit a range of pipe sizes and even the most complex plastic pipe systems to offer up to 4 hours of fire protection.

Multi-Cable Firestop
Multi-cable firestops ensure cables remain protected in the case of a fire. Made from foam, these provide a flexible shape which wires can be easily moved or replaced as required. When applied correctly, firestops can provide up to 4 hours of fire protection, creating a lasting solution to prevent cable damage.

Putty Pads
Intumescent Putty Pads surround plastic or electrical sockets, providing 2 hours of fire protection. As a flexible material, application is as precise as possible to create the most effective seal. They have the benefit of providing insulation for sound where the socket box has penetrated the wall, whilst preventing the spread of flames.

Load-bearing Fire Compound
Fire compounds are specially formulated compounds that are mixed with water to surround service penetrations. When set, they provide a fire proof seal around pipes and ducts, and its formless structure before setting allows it to create a completely void free seal, even around cables. These compounds provide the added benefits of a barrier against smoke and sound.

Rainscreen OSCB
Rainscreen OSCB forms an open-state cavity fire barrier within a rainscreen cavity. The combination of non-combustible insulation with an effective intumescent supports the construction of safe façade systems and aids the design of high-rise buildings over 18m in height. The product is available in two variants giving up to 60 and 120 minutes fire performance respectively. Each comprises of a continuous intumescent strip fixed to the leading edge of a foil faced stone wool barrier, encapsulated by a weather-resistant polythene sleeve – coloured white for OSCB 60 and red for OSCB 120.

Beamclad
Beamclad systems are manufactured using stone wool insulation that is both high performing and non-combustible. This product has been developed to provide fire protection to structural steel for up to 4 hours and can be tailored to suit a range of applications.

Fire Barriers
Fire barriers are comprised of stone wool, designed to prevent the spread of flames and smoke through hidden gaps in the building whilst offering increased acoustic insulation. They offer fire protection for periods of up to 2 hours and enhance integrity.
